Privacy Policy

Gatherly ("we", "us", "the app") helps people discover and join weekend trips and home gatherings near them. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it plain because trust is the whole point of the product.

Who we are

Information we collect

We only collect what the app needs to work:

Email address — used as your sign-in identity, verified with a one-time code. We do not use passwords.
Profile details you provide — your name, phone number, city, and an optional short bio.
Gender — collected once, only to support women-only plans; it is never shown publicly.
Plan activity — plans you host, request to join, or attend, and the intro messages you send to hosts.
Reputation counts — how many plans you have joined, attended, hosted, and any no-shows. These are shown to other members to build trust.
Shared-expense entries — amounts and notes you log to split costs within a plan group.
Device notification token — if you enable notifications, so we can alert you about join requests and approvals.

How we use your information

To verify your identity at sign-in and keep the community free of anonymous accounts.
To show plans, group members, and the reputation that helps members decide who to meet.
To let hosts review and approve join requests.
To reveal a phone number only to the members of a plan you have both been approved into, so the group can coordinate.
To send you notifications about your plans (only if you enable them).

What we never do

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
We do not show third-party advertising in the app.
We do not share your exact gathering address or phone number publicly — they are visible only to approved members of the same plan.

How information is shared

Your name, city, bio, and reputation are visible to other signed-in members so they can decide whether to host or join a plan with you. Your phone number is shared only with members of a plan once you are both approved. We use Supabase (our database and authentication provider) and Expo (push notifications) to operate the service; they process data on our behalf under their own security terms.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile, plans, requests, messages, and expense entries.

Deleting your account and data

You can request deletion of your Gatherly account and all associated data at any time by emailing 2devs2026@gmail.com from the email address on your account. We will delete your data within 30 days and confirm once done.

Children

Gatherly is intended for adults (18 and over) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Security

Access to your data is protected by row-level security rules so members can only see what they are permitted to. Sign-in is passwordless and verified by a one-time email code.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
